Symbol of wealth and power
Feel the power of the place, reinforced by the vertiginous height of the watchtowers and admire the uninterrupted and extraordinary view of the Ariège and the Pyrenees. 

Used in turn for defence, habitation and as a prison, discover as a group the history of the Château de Foix.

Stroll around the wall walk between the watchtowers, the arrow slits and the machicolations and discover the symbols of their power!

In addition to its incredible architecture, Château de Foix houses a collection as part of the Departmental Museum of the Ariège, a genuine treasure-trove of the region’s medieval past. 

Breathtaking events
Twice a year, Foix castle comes to life during the ‘medieval days’ that animate the castle and plunge the visitor into the very heart of the middle ages. 
During the summer, for a two-week period, Foix castle becomes the main setting for the historical show, ‘The legend of Cathar souls’.

Guided Tour
The guided tour of Château de Foix lasts approximately 45 minutes.
It covers the ground floor of the castle. 
You are free to visit the watchtowers and grounds of the castle at your leisure.
